With a head office based centrally in Birmingham, BCA logistics is a provider of vehicle inspection, collection & delivery services within the automotive supply chain on a nationwide basis. Typically operating at end of vehicle contract BCA Logistics inspects & collects in excess of 600, 000 vehicles per annum making it the largest provider of these services within the sector with further growth planned.

Location : Corby / Thurleigh hubs. Will involve travel to Solihull and other areas when required. Must be able to commute.
Purpose of the role:
To manage the end-to-end driver processes; from recruitment through to utilisation, productivity and day to day management of resources which underpins BCA Specialist Logistics service performance and profitability.
Role Accountabilities:
• Deliver outstanding customer experience through strong operational performance. Ensure the department is effectively resourced to meet customer expectations; drivers’ days are planned efficiently and coordinated seamlessly to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Provide visible leadership and direction, acting as a role model to motivate and develop the team. Take full accountability for all aspects of people management including performance, engagement, disciplinary and grievance processes, objective setting, and ensuring a safe working environment.
• Ensure full compliance with all HSE legislation, transport regulations, and company standards. Proactively drive initiatives to improve safety, compliance, and environmental performance.
• Drive operational performance against KPIs, analysing driver productivity, cost, and service metrics. Use data insights to identify trends, reduce cost-to-serve, and improve overall service delivery.
• Take ownership of escalated customer issues, demonstrating accountability and professionalism. Ensure root cause analysis is completed and effective corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
• Leverage data and continuous improvement methodologies to optimise processes, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation across the transport function.
• Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Lead the operation through daily challenges, reacting quickly to disruptions while maintaining service levels.

The role holder will engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, adapting their approach depending on the level of interaction required—ranging from information sharing to influencing
• Operations/Suppliers - Collaborate to align schedules with operational activity, resolve issues, and optimise end-to-end delivery performance.
• Direct Team - Provide direction, coaching, and feedback to drive performance, compliance, and a strong safety culture.
• Customer Service / Account Managers - Share operational updates, analyse performance data, and inform decision-making relating to customer delivery expectations and service levels.
• Customers - Manage escalations, build trust, and influence expectations through clear communication, problem-solving, and service improvements.
• Senior Leadership Team - Provide performance insights, KPIs, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• HR & HSE Teams - Partner on people matters (performance, engagement, ER cases) and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
• Proven experience in transport / logistics operations management - ability to manage day-to-day transport operations, including planning, driver management, and service delivery.
• Experience of leading and managing teams - Including performance management, engagement, and development of drivers or operational staff.
• Data analysis and performance management skills - Ability to interpret KPIs, identify trends, and implement improvements based on data insights.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills - With the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to influence, challenge, and build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable:
• CPC Licence
• Experience within a Specialist Logistics environment
• Experience using transport management systems.
