Job Title: Parts / Stores Operative
Salary: Up to 32k per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am-5:00pm

Main purpose of the role:
Parts / Stores Operative plays a vital role in supporting workshop efficiency by ensuring all parts, consumables and materials are accurately received, stored, issued and recorded. Reporting to Parts Manager, this role maintains tight control over stock levels, supports the ordering and returns process, and ensures technicians receive the correct components on time. It’s a hands‑on, fast‑paced position suited to someone who thrives in an organised stores environment and understands the demands of automotive workshop operations.
Key Duties Include:
- Stock control - maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring all items are correctly entered into the IT stock management system.
- Parts storage & issuing - store parts in designated areas and issue components to the workshop promptly to support daily workflow.
- Stock counts - carry out official six‑monthly stock counts, investigate variances and maintain full stock integrity.
- Order & returns processing - fulfil ordering requirements and manage returns efficiently, ensuring correct documentation and system updates.
- Consumables control - monitor, replenish and manage consumable stock to support workshop operations.
- Receiving & receipting - receive incoming parts, complete receipting processes and ensure accurate system entry.
- Training support - train suitable colleagues to provide cover during periods of absence.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Working under pressure - able to manage a busy workload, meet deadlines and solve issues confidently.
- IT proficiency - confident with Excel, PowerPoint and internal systems, supporting accurate stock control.
- Team collaboration - works effectively with colleagues across workshop and parts, maintaining clear communication and customer focus.
- Parts & workshop experience - previous experience in a parts, stores, workshop or dealership environment is desirable and supports confident handling of stock and consumables.
