Role Overview:
Based at BCA Automotive’s Portbury depot, the Yard Operative is responsible for moving vehicles around the yard safely to get them to the right place at the right time ensuring all vehicles are booked in & out, keeping the system as up to date as possible.
Reporting to the Allocation Manager, the post holder’s key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Storing, moving and parking all vehicles on site in the correct locations.
- Assisting other departments where required e.g. general office cover.
- Managing and organising the load lanes efficiently.
- Ensuring systems are up to date with book ins and dispatches.
- Recording and monitoring vehicles being used by the training team on site.
- Any other duties that are reasonably assigned to you.
- Raising any complex issues to your manager.
- Liaising with VS to ensure load pulling
- To take problem cars off loads and replace with “Fit” cars
- To handout consumables to drivers
- To print and handout paperwork where required
- Any other reasonable request deemed necessary
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will possess/ be;
- 5 GCSE’s C+
- Full UK driving license
- System knowledge & ability to book vehicles on to Vision
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Reliable and punctual individual
- Awareness of other departments and depot
